Dia de los Muertos is a celebration and remembrance of loved ones that have passed. Every year families create altars and gather to remember their dearly departed loved ones.
Favorite foods, drinks and photos of the deceased are shared. Favorite moments and memories are recalled, particularly with children, so they will know their ancestors’ legacy. Skeleton toys are created so children will not fear death; instead they are taught that it is the natural process of life.
I dedicate this painting to all the children who are departed. May their spirits live with great joy and love!
